A dark and fetid depiction of mans’ challenge to exhume its humanity from a time of destruction and alienation, Guernica follows three lost souls thru a unique and ghastly absurd theatrical experience of cyclical violence. From an original scenario/physical imagery created by Magdalena Kazubowski-Houston, Guernica combines Magda’s “Illustrative Performing Technique” with influences from Picasso’s nightmare impressionistic painting (of the same title).

Original Scenario:
Based on the works of Magdalena Kazubowski-Houston (Teatr Korzenie) production of Replika 8 and Josef Szajna’s productions of Replika.

Top Ten of the Winnipeg Fringe Festival, CBC Mike O’Brien, “5 Stars”, for Guernica
“Some folks will hate this. It’s dark, challenging and potentially offensive. It’s also everything fringe theatre should be: daring, unapologetic and artful…the work that went into the faultless choreography is evidenced…”
