ABOUT
Objects + Performers come together to render this object theatre adaptation of the 10th-century dramatic text by ROSWITHA of GANDERSHEIM
Originally written in Latin, Sapientia (wisdom) deals with the martyrdom of three allegorical virgins who willingly face death under the command of the Roman Emperor Hadrian and are slain in the encouraging presence of their mother — Sapientia. The daughter’s unwavering faith protects them from the horrifying tortures they undergo and instead results in a series of miracles that astounds and humiliates the Emperor.
